Stocks and Lisianthus

A lovely bouquet from this week featuring stocks and lisianthus, surrounded by Fatsia japonica leaves.

This week at college

These are the two arrangements I made at college this week - both with great autumnal colours. I really liked the first design but wasn't so keen on the second one.

Chocolate covered roses

I received an order this week from a male customer for something "a bit different" for his girlfriend's 21st birthday. I decided to go with these chocolate covered roses. I was a bit worried that they would look tacky but I love the final result and they were really popular (I had them on my desk at work while waiting for the guy to pick them up). They were quite hard to work with due to the weight and my hands weren't big enough to hold the bouquet without it hurting! So I tied it together in stages, which really helped.

You can see from the last photo that the recipient was really happy!

RHS Wisley

A couple of weeks ago I visit RHS Wisley with a friend from college. It was a lovely day and thankfully the weather held out. There was a flowers show on and a dahlia competition - I couldn't believe how many of them there were, and how big some of them were!

Back to college

I was back at college this week and it was the start of the "floral arrangements" unit. I made these two arrangements. My feelings on them are mixed - I don't like the gerberas but I liked folding and manipulating the leaves.
