Egg box arrangement

For the 3D display we're doing at college my group have chosen an Easter theme, and I've chosen to make an arrangement in an egg box.  So I decided to have a practice in advance of the actual day.

I think the eggs looks great - the centres were easier to remove than I thought and it doesn't take many flowers for it to look good. The eggs aren't particularly water tight though - I don't think there were any holes but the water did seep through the shells. I've coated the inside with glue now though so hopefully that will help! I'm not sure what flowers I'll be using on the day but I'm sure they'll be similar.

Mum's birthday

It was my mum's birthday on Friday and my dad requested some flowers for her - I put more into them that I would usually and my mum loved them!

Birthday flowers

I was asked by a lady at work to make some flowers for her friend whose birthday it was earlier this week. I delivered them to her at her desk and she was very impressed with them! I went for three different types of flower in this bouquet - lilies, alstroemeria and carnations. I love the colours!

Valentine's work experience

On Friday and Saturday last week I spent time in a florist in Withal for Valentine's work experience. I've been into this florist quite a few times before so I've got a bit of experience now, and they let me do more and more each time. I spent most of Friday in the back making up endless bouquets, and on Saturday I went out on some deliveries. I'd never done this before but I really enjoyed it, it was great to put smiles on people's faces by surprising them with flowers!

Happy Engagement!

A girl at work got engaged last week and her team ordered a bunch of flowers for her. I saw the lilies and they were a lovely orange colour, so I got the roses to match. I do need to stock up in ribbons though because this yellow was the closest I had! I did get to use my new stamp again though which I love.

Hannah Louise flowers

Anyone who looks at this blog regularly may have noticed that I have changed the name and header. I've spent a while coming up with a brand for my floristry work, and this is what I've come up with. I didn't want anything too fancy of complicated, so I went with my first and middle names, and 'flowers'. I drew the logo using Adobe Illustrator and I love how it has come out!

Handmade with love

My friends bought me a personalised stamp for my birthday, along with a packet of labels, and I thought it would be perfect for labelling my hand tieds. My friend requested a bouquet to give to her nan for her birthday so I got an opportunity to use my new stamp! I think it looks pretty cool, and I've written my details on the back so it acts as a business card as well.
