Last week at college

It was my last week at college this week for the summer and the end of my first year! We did some paperwork then made this summer planter for our gardens, just for fun. It has found a home out the front of my workshop. We also went through our assessment folders and of the 21 assessments we've had so far I've had 21 distinctions. It's so great to have found the thing I'm obviously meant to do with my life!

Pink and white

I was asked to make two teacup arrangements for a couple of girls whose grandmother had passed away. I wanted them to have something special so I chose a different colour scheme for each and included some bead detail. I used roses, lisianthks, gypsophila, bouvardia and homegrown eucalyptus.

I had too many flowers so I made a table arrangement with the leftovers.

Work experience

Today I went to Michelle Floral Design in Witham for 4 hours to help out while they were preparing for a couple of weddings. I got to help a bit with that by making some artificial flower buttonholes, and I also made a beautiful funeral wreath and some Interflora arrangements.

Hanging basket

I was back at college this week after half term, and I made this hanging basket. I didn't like it at first but once it was hanging up I liked it a lot more. I also think it looks cool with the water dripping out the bottom!
