Springtime arrangements

My mum brought home some flowers during the Easter weekend and asked me to make an arrangement for the table. This is what I came up with, and I had some flowers left over so I made another small arrangement with them. The foliage all came from the garden so it's really useful that my mother is into gardening!

Birthday bouquet

My brother commissioned me to make a bouquet for his wife for her birthday, and this is what I came up with. I'm very pleased with the overall result. I had them on my desk at work for the day until my brother picked them up and I got a lot of compliments for them! Even managed to hand out some business cards so that was good as well.

Teacup arrangements

It was my sister in law's birthday this week so I made her a teacup arrangement as a gift. I had a lot of materials left over so I made myself one as well :) I did put beads in the pink one after I took the photo. The foliage is all from the garden, the pink flowers were some sort of potted plant I picked up at the wholesalers and the spray roses are from Sainsburys.

I loved making these, they're so easy but so effective.

Wedding: week 1

I started the wedding unit of my floristry course this week, and we made a corsage. The smallest arrangement we've ever made and it took the longest! I didn't appreciate how much time it takes to wire and tape all the materials. I'm also not very good at taping - it was much too thick - so I need to work on that skill!

We're off for 2 weeks now for Easter, then I'll be away for the second week of the wedding unit so it's pretty much a month before I'm back in college!
