Hand tied with a collar
At college today we made two hand tied bouquets with frames - one frame was made from natural materials and the other was made from cardboard and fabric. I really like the materials we used this week - I'd seen them all before but I didn't know what some of them were called so it was good to find out! I like the fabric frame best I think - it has a greater visual impact. We have 40 minutes to make that arrangement in an assessment next week!

Wedding: week 3
I missed the second week of the wedding unit because I was in Holland but I was back this week for week 3 and this hand tied bouquet. I quite like this design, I'm not sure it's still very popular but it's a bit different and it was fun to make.

Sympathy: Week 4
This is the result of week 4 of my sympathy course, and I think my favourite design so far. This one was really simple to make, but it was quite tricky to get decent bark with everyone else on my course fighting for it! It looks more natural though when they don't all match perfectly.
I need to work on my pin work though - if you turn this upside down there are pins sticking out everywhere! Not ideal when a customer could pick it up and stab themselves! We'll be using pins again next week so I can keep it in mind and try and prevent them sticking out.

Floristry: Week 5
Here's what I made in week 5 of my floristry course...
We were asked to bring a container to use, and I got this one from The Range. Turns out it was a lot bigger than what everyone else brought in so I think my flowers look a bit lost. This has been the design I like least since the start of the course which is a shame, but can't like it every week!

Floristry: Week 4
This is the result of week 4 of my floristry course - a hand tied with a collar frame.
I wasn't sure about the whole collar thing at first but I actually really like it in the final design and I can now see what an impact this makes. I covered it in pink and green floral fabric. The first photo is mine, and the second two show some of the designs from other women on my course.

Floristry: Week 3
This is the outcome from week 3 of my floristry course - a table design incorporating candles. This was quite difficult to photograph well because it is so long, but up close I think it really makes an impact.
We also lined them all up at college to see what impact a lot of these designs would make, and you can see how effective this is in the photos below.
